A short time ago i bought myself a DVD ( disc ) recorder. Though this device supports the cutting of recordings by remote control, i was
sometimes not convinced with the result.
Often there were scenes of commercials remaining that were very annoying.
And it was not possible to cut scenes that were shorter than 5 sec. so i sometimes had to cut out more material than i wanted.
Therefore I decided to do this Video editing on my PC, only to quickly realize that it is not so easy to figure out which tools
to get and how to use them.
Not to forget the fact that the result has to be a standard video DVD that should play in every standalone player.
When I finally managed to get the desired results i decided to make up this short tutorial, where i will only describe the "Basics", i.e. the tools and
steps it takes to cut a TV recording and burn it to a standard DVD together with a small menue and a chapter selection list.
Only Freeware programs will be used, ( spending money for bigger programs is too easy ;)
Disadvantage is only, that you will have to use multiple tools and the total process will take a little more time than using a single commercial program -
but therefore itīs free an the final results will be equal in regards to quality.
For further information on special topics ( handling of subtitles, animated menues,...) I will provide you with some links to popular sites/forums, were u can find many other tutorials.
